Figure 1a: Plate with agar and ampicllin not containing the plasmid pGEM-gbr22. There was no growth of the BL21(DE3) bacteria after the incubation period.
Figure 1b: Plate with agar and ampicllin and the plasmid pGEM-gbr22. There was growth of the BL21(DE3) bacteria after the incubation period. The purple color on the plate is colonies of the bacteria.

Figure 2: Bacterial culture containing 25 mL of LB Broth, 625 microliters of starter culture, and 50 microliters of ampicillin after flasks were shaken in a 37 degree Celsius incubator at 200-350 rpm for 24 hours. The BL21(DE3) bacterial and pGEM-gbr22 plasmid were contained in the starter culture.
Figure 3: Cell pellet containing the pGEM-gbr22 plasmid and BL21(DE3) bacteria after being centrifuged at 5000 rpm at 4 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
Figure 4: Elution 2 (top) and Elution 1 (bottom) containing the purified protein. Most of the protein is in elution 1, which is why it is purple in color.
